Overflow Warehouse is our feeding ministry. Food parcels go out to families in our community who are stretching a meal across three days — every week of the year. We run it in partnership with The Overflow Warehouse, who source the surplus that makes it possible.
The rhythm
When we feed
Overflow runs on a rhythm, not on crisis. Here is the week.
12:00 — Weekly feeding
This is the heartbeat. Food parcels are packed and go out to families who need them, every single week, through the year.
Extra, when we can
We feed again on a Friday whenever food and volunteers allow. It depends on what has come in, so it is never the same twice.
Donations in
Stock, funds and volunteers come in whenever people can. The cupboard is always open — that is what overflow means.

The Overflow Warehouse
Overflow Warehouse at Highway runs hand in hand with The Overflow Warehouse — a project-driven non-profit that exists to turn excess into resources for the people and organisations who need them most.
They source suppliers, negotiate bulk prices on our behalf, and channel surplus goods through to charities and non-profits across the country. That is why a Wednesday parcel can hold fresh produce at all. It is their work that fills the cupboard, and our work that gets it into the hands of our community.
Their projects, which overflow into ours
Beyond our Wednesday feeding, The Overflow Warehouse runs a set of ongoing initiatives that feed stock and support into partner organisations like Highway:
Winter jacket project
Bulk purchases of quality jackets at special rates, so that warmth reaches far more people than one-off buying ever could.
Bucket projects
Assembled buckets carrying the everyday essentials a family runs short of — the unglamorous, necessary things.
Baby packs & family care
Care packs built and assembled for the needs of new and vulnerable families in our own community.
Dignity pack drives
Dignity packs supplied to people in desperate situations, so that being helped never means being pitied.
They also support our wider community through chaplaincy and trauma support for emergency services personnel — SAPS, EMS, traffic and fire. A different kind of overflow, but the same river.

Four ways to join in
Everything below happens at Highway, on our own account, and feeds into the same weekly parcel.
Give funds
Money buys what the cupboard cannot — fresh produce, protein, and the things that make a parcel a real meal.
Give stock
Long-life food, tinned goods, and fresh produce are all welcome. Bring it to the church and we will put it to work.
Volunteer
Packing and distribution run on hands. Even a couple of hours on a Wednesday changes how much goes out that day.
Send a team
Bring staff or a group to pack and distribute for a morning. Companies do this often — talk to us and we will find a date.

We welcome companies who want to stand in the gap for families in our community. There is more than one way to do it — and we will shape it around what your business is good at.
