3 Ways to Stop Surviving: You Are an Ambassador of Heaven
Have you ever felt like you’re just going through the motions? Waking up, sitting in M13 traffic, grinding through the workday, and just hoping for the weekend? It is easy to fall into a routine where survival becomes our only goal.
God didn’t create you merely to survive. He created you with a royal mandate. It is time to step into your true identity as an Ambassador of Heaven and experience authentic Christianity.
1. The Gift and the Mandate
When God created the world, He gave humanity two distinct things: a gift and a mandate. The gift was His very image—we were created to be carbon copies of our Creator. The mandate was to subdue the earth, rule over it, and expand the culture of Heaven across the globe. God, who lives in a spiritual dimension, wanted to reflect His eternal qualities in our physical world.
“God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.'” — Genesis 1:28
But a “heart treason” in the garden of Eden changed everything. Humanity bought into a lie from the enemy, questioning God’s integrity. We lost our mandate, and suddenly, human existence became about striving, sweating, and just trying to get by. We were separated from our true purpose.
2. The Rescue Mission
We couldn’t earn our way back to the garden. Spiritually speaking, there are only two bloodlines on earth: the First Adam and the Last Adam (Jesus). In the First Adam, we inherited brokenness, sin, and a fallen nature. We were born into a condition we couldn’t work our way out of.
“For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.” — 1 Corinthians 15:22
Through the Old Testament, God used sacrifices to draw a crimson thread of hope all the way to Golgotha’s hill. Jesus didn’t just come to forgive our sins; He came to legally take back the keys of the Kingdom. By living a perfect life in a physical body, dying on the cross, and rising again, He reclaimed the mandate we lost. When we put our faith in Him, we are instantly transferred out of the old system of the First Adam and into a completely new reality.
3. A New Kingdom Culture
Every kingdom has its own culture, constitution, and economy. The world’s economy runs on hustle, anxiety, and self-promotion. It operates purely on buying and selling. God’s Kingdom operates on a completely different frequency:
The Culture: Righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. Imagine how different your workplace or home would be if this was the prevailing culture!
The Economy: Unshakeable trust. If God takes care of the birds who have no barns or storehouses, He will certainly provide for His children.
The Power: “Binding and loosing”—which simply means releasing on earth the forgiveness, freedom, and grace that Heaven has already accomplished.
“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” — Matthew 16:19
Your Assignment as an Ambassador of Heaven
You are an ambassador. An ambassador doesn’t stress about paying their own way; they are backed by the wealth of their home country. They don’t have to invent their own rules or rely on their own opinions; they carry the exact message and authority of their King.
Because of this, you no longer have to live under the “paralysis of analysis.” You don’t need to constantly overthink your past mistakes, dig through your family tree looking for generational curses, or wonder if you are truly forgiven. In the First Adam, we sinned because we were sinners. But in Christ, we do righteous things because He has made us righteous.
You are a new creation. Whether you are sitting at a desk, studying on campus, or grabbing coffee right here in the Upper Highway area, you are there to represent a higher kingdom. The mandate has been restored, and the King has given you the keys. It is time to step out of survival mode and into your royal assignment.
